FOXTON RACING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. The annual meeting of the Fox ion Racing Club will be held in the sup-per-room of tin 1 Town Hall on Monday, August 3rd. The following is the annual report to he submitted to the meeting:—‘'The committee has pleasure in presenting the icporl. and balance-sheet for the period (‘tiding .June 30th, 192.'), which shows the Club to have made a satisfactory improvement in its financial position. Summarising the year's operations, the position is shortly that the Club commenced the year with a Bank overdraft of £92 18s Sd, and after paying current expenses, painting I lie properly in Whyte Street, and pitying two years rates, completed the year with a credit balance ot £l4l 4s ftd. A deputation from your Committee interviewed the Minister of Internal Affairs with a view-to iiblaining an extra permit, and, although unsuccessful, the .Minister assured them that their application would receive due consideration at a later date. The Flub have been allotted Friday and Saturday, 21st and 22nd January, I92ti, for the next race meeting. It is with deep regret that we have to record the deaths of the following members of the t ’lull: —Messrs A. Keith, A. Ileasman, B. Ling, L. Bigolt, W. .). Xeylon and A. King.” The following nominations have been received for the election of tour vice-presidents:—Messrs \V. E. Barber, .J. Burr, R. Bryant, 11. Colev, ('. E. Robinson.

For Hu- information of members who may contemplate being absent from Foxton on the date of the annual meeting the following is quoted from the amended rules: — ••That any absent member shall, on application to the secretary within seven days prior to the annual general incei mg, lie entitled to receive a voting paper. Such ballot paper to lie sealed and returned to the chairman by 8 p.m. on the night of the annual general meeting.”
