S.M. COURT

MONTHLY SITTING,

The monthly sitting of the local S.M. Court was held on Friday, before Messrs A. Fraser and F. Robinson, -I's.P., in the absence of Mr •J. L. Stout, S.M., owing to indisposition. MILITARY OFFENDER.

11. H. Christensen, for failing to notify the Defence Department of his change of address, was fined £l, with costs 225.

BREACH OF MOTOR REGISTRATION ACT.

Lionel Bishop, charged with (1) failing to register a motor car, and (2) with driving a car without a license, was fined £2 on the first charge, and £1 on the second, with Court costs 15s. WANDERING STOCK.

C. T. Easton, for allowing eight heifers to graze on the Moutoa road, was fined £1 with costs £2 Os (id. .J. P. Allerby, on a charge of allowing a herd of 17 head of stock to wander on No. 1 Line, was fined £l, with costs 14s (id. CIVIL CASES.

Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the following undefended civiJ eases:—T. W. Winstnnley nnd Son (Mr Bex-gin) v. J. Pene, £3 5s lOd, costs 28s- fid; A. E. Tongs (Mr Ilpllings) v. 0. Jacobsen, £4 Os 9d, costs 18s (id; R. McMullian (Mr Bergin) v. J. Cardwell, £ls, costs £2 19s, Owing to the indisposition of Mr Stout, the major cases to have been heard yesterday were adjourned until August 21st.
