July '29 —P.N.B.H.S. v. Napier H.S. at Napier. August 12 —Manawatu v. Southland at Palmerston North. August 15 —Manawatu v. Horowhenua at Palmerston North. August 22 Wellington-Horo-whenua-Manawatu v. New South Wales at Palmerston North. August 2(> —Manawatu v. Taranaki at Palmerston North. August 29 —Manawatu v. Wanganiu at Palmerston North. September 22 —Manawatu-Horo-whenua v. Hawke’s Bay at Levin. September 26 —Manawatu-Horo-whenua v. Wellington at Wellington.
“I am afraid the Shannon Borough Council is developing a very bad trait —the trait of pin-pricking,” remarked the County Chairman (Mr Monk) at Saturday’s meeting. “It will be better for all parties, themselves included, if they drop it.” The remark was apropos of a complaint sent to the Public Works Engineer regarding some drains on the Shan-non-Poxton road.
