MOTOR ACCIDENT ON MARTONBULLS ROAD.

ONE MAN KILLED. A shocking accident occurred at Curl’s Bridge, about two miles from Bulls on the Bulls-Marton Road at 2.30 o’clock on Thursday afternoon. A ear driven by Claude Harris Boswortli, of Marton, and who is in the employ of Messrs Barnaul and Abraham Ltd., failed to negotiate the turn from the main road over the bridge, and crashed into the parapet, finally overturning into the creek below. There was in the car as well one passenger, who was getting ji lift into Bulls, James Small, barman, of Marton, and believed to be a native of Invercargill. Bosworlh had a miraculous escape, being thrown clear. Small was not so fortunate, being pinned in the car. ■He suffered shocking injuries and was drowned.

Claude Boswortli, who is suffering from shock, is well-known in this district-, being a son of Major Boswort.li, of College St., Palmerston X
