A gang of men was working on .each side of the river clearing the cutting, and it Wits apparent that it would be some time before this work would be completed. The party was informed that the punt had been usable for only live days in the lust six weeks. They had to leave their ear and take an ordinary rowing boa t to cross the river.
After the Moutoa ceremony Mr Linklaler accompanied the Shannon party hack to the bridge, where ho inspected the source of the trouble and promised to do all in liis power to have the position righted.
