NO-CONFIDENCE DEBATE
LABOUR ATTACK OPENED. Wellington, Last Night. Yesterday's sitting of the House of Representatives opened placidly hut developed liveliness as time went on. There were a number of interesting references to party fusion, at times in the shape of interjections and brisk inter-party exchanges. Mr. Atmore read the amendment of the Address,-in-Reply, of which he had given notice. The honours of the day went to Sir James Pan 1 , who made an effective, informative, and at times amusing speech. In moving his no-eonfi-denee amendment, the Leader of the Labour Party (Mr -Holland), hardly developed his usual enginepower. He spoke ah length on land tenure, and on other questions, hut seemed neither to have any very definite aim in his attack, nor to make much impression on his opponents. He drew a reply, however, from the Hon. G. J. Anderson.
