COMMITTEES HOLD I.OXC CONFERENCE. Wellington, June *2O. Following the caucuses on Friday night, there was a meeting of the fusion committee on Saturday night. The meeting lasted several hours, and yesterday afternoon Mr. J. A. Young, who was appointed to make a report for the press, announced that the conference had entered into a thoroughly earnest and friendly consideration of the several points of view, and the delegates will leport to their respective principals. The members of the committees were:— Reform : Messrs. J. A. Young, <>. ITowken, 'l'. 1). Burncit and \Y. J. (til ling. Liberal: Messrs G. Forbes. R. Masters. W. A. Yoilh and A. J. Murdoch. As far as can he gathered, the i ouferencc did not bring the question of fusion any nearer and it is becoming increasingly evident that: tie re will he no amalgamation, worthy of the name, before the eleel ion, Wellington, .Tune 2!>. A caucus of the Parliamentary Labour Party was held on Saturday morning, Mr Holland presiding. A.II members of the party were present, or necounled for. General matters concerning the party and the work of the session were discussed, hut the result of the dismission was not oltieiallv disclosed.
