SUICIDE AT WAIHI.

Waihi, June 22. James McEnteer (50 years of age) committed suicide this afternoon, apparently by placing a plug of gelignite in his mouth. Residents in the neighbourhood Averc startled by a loud explosion. In vestigation rcA'caled a headless body in the backyard. Near by there Avas a pocjket knife and a box of matches, and it is assumed that these Avere used by McEnteer in taking his life. There were no traces of an explosive, but the loud,report heard, coupled Avith the fact that deceased's head was blown to fragments, and (lie ehinaware crashed from .shelves in the kitchen, suggested that lie placed an explosive in his month and fired a matched fuse after splitting it Avith the knife. There was no one in the house but himself at the time. Deceased leaves a widow and two married sons.
