WHO IS MRS DON?
On Sunday night after church at the Town Hall Mrs W. R. Don, who has just returned from a world tour is to speak upon the people she met and things she saw. Airs Don spent several months in the U.S.A. where she met many of the leading citizens and was introduced to Presi dent Coolidge. After conversing with her for some time he pointed to her little white how and inquired it it stood for the same tilings in New Zealand which it did in the U.S.A. Mrs Don preached in many of the' largest churches, and in one she was the second woman to occupy the pulpit, the iirst being Commandant: Evangeline Booth. Mrs Don has a thrilling story to tell, and she tells it well. In a letter received this week from U.S.A. speaking of her “all agree she is the lnest woman speaker they have heard.” W hen Mrs Don left New Zealand the purser on the steamer asked “Who is Mrs Don, more than half the. ship’s mail is for her?” And when she hoarded the magnificent liner at New York to cross to England again the ship’s officers were all excitement “Who is Mrs Don?" never they said had they carried even royalty, which had such a huge mail, of letters and parcels. Mrs Don commences her tour of the North Island in Cox ton and we feel sure that a good audience will greet her. There is no charge for admission but a collection to defray expenses. A united choir under the leadership of Mr H. Osborne will render three items one being the “Gloria from 12th -Mass." The chair will he taken at 8.15 p.m. by the Mayor, Mr Perreau.
