ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A painful accident befel a young man of about twenty years, named Fmcsi. Fergus on, on Wednesday. He was engaged at his work at Mangahao when his arm became caught in the machinery, and a fracture of the limb resulted. He was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital. Austin Charles, 23 years of age, of Hunterville, was coining into Palmerston North on Wednesday night on a motor-cycle, when his machine crashed into another cycle being driven in the opposite direction. Charles sustained a fractured leg, and was conveyed to the Palmerston North Hospital. The other cyclist was not hurt.
A child, of two years, named Donald Young, of ilangitane, was admitted to tlie Palmerston North Hospital on Wednesday, suftering from injuries to his foot, sustained in an accident with an axe. He was last evening’ reported to be progressing. Auckland, June 12. While walking on the footpath in the city, William Johnson, aged 40, a tyre, expert, was struck on the head by a ilagpole, which fell from the Commercial hotel, where building alterations are being carried out. His skull was fractured, but his condition is reported as not serious. A Thames message reports that Herbert Woofe (13 years of age), when playing with a quantity of caps, placed one on a stone. Ihe cap exploded, and the youth lost two lingers of the right hand.
