Greymouth, May 29. Mr Meldrum, S.M., at Kumara, convicted Charlotte Lewis, licensee of Pearn’s Hotel, for refusing accommodation to Glewellyn King, a prohibition lecturer, and imposed a hne of £1 (minimum) with costs £lO At the initial healing Mr Meldrum dismissed the information, ihe police appealed and Mi - Justice MacGregor held that the magisterial decision was not justified and ordered a. conviction. William Henry Batson, licensee of the Commercial at Kumara, pleaded not guilty to refusing accomodation to John P, MeCosker, a week-end visitor. The hearing is now proceeding.
