THE LATE MR. MASSEY.

The president of the local Chamber of Commerce (Mr. D. Christie) forwarded the following telegram to Sir Francis Bell, Wellington, on Monday morning:— .“Please accept and convey to Mrs Massey, family and your colleagues, Foxton Chamber of Commerce deepest sympathy in sad loss sustained.” The sarnie day Mr. Christie received the following reply:— “My colleagues and I desire to express to your Chamber our gratitude for your kindly message of sympathy in the great loss suffered by the Government and the country” : (Signed FRANCIS BELL.
