ROYAL PICTURES. One of the finest examples of what motion picture titles should lie is to be seen in “On Time,” starring Richard Talmadge, which is playing at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. The play is highly humorous. and this fact is accentuated bv Hie thoroughly humorous titles which appear throughout the play. “A mountain among the myriad molehills of the screen.” Thus did the critic of the Neve York World characterise .Joseph M. Sehenek’s magnificent production, “Ashes of Vengeance,” a First National Pic- . are starring Nonna Talmadge, which the Royal Theatre will present for |,wo days, commencing on Thursday. “Ashes of Vengeance” is an entrancing romance with rich lrislorieu.l background, dealing with a dramatic period in the annals of Prance, which offers richer opportunities for gorgeousness of eosI ume and setting, and for stirring deeds of valour, perhaps than any period in any other country’s history. “THE ALASKAN.” James Oliver (Jurwood's story, "The Alaskan,” screening at the Town Hull Cabaret to-morrow evening, is declared by all who have seel! it Lo be Thomas Meighan’s greatest picture success to date. Here is a story of a mart Who lights not only for a great love, but for a great cause —the preservation of Alaska for the native Alaskans. To most people Alaska is synonymous with gold, and in this picture Director Breuoti has reproduced scenes from the historic gold rush of the iute nineties when the eyes of the whole world turned towards the far north. Aiountain peaks, forests, rivers and glaciers form the gigantic sets which appear in “The Alaskan." A comedy, “Busy Buddies,” and the Paramount News are also on the programme. Cabaret prices. Next Saturday will see the screening of Buck June’s first pieiure since liis return to straight cowboy roles. “The Desert Outlaw” is the title, and patrons are promised a lively story. "Beau Brummel,” the “Prince of Dandies," is perhaps one of the most unique characters in history, liis love affairs were legion, his unpaid bills likewise, but withal be was a clover diplomat. John Barrymore lives the role, and all who witness the story in picture form at the Town Hall' shortly are in for a treat.
