.MINISTER SILENT ON MATTER

The Minister for Public Works (Hon. .J. G. Coates) passed through Palmerston North yesterday by train, en route from Auckland to Wellington.

When approached by a Standard reported and questioned whether he could give any information relative to the date of commencement of the Palmerston North railway deviation, lie replied in the negative.
