BOROUGH COUNCIL.
. Last night the “swearing-in” of Mayor and Councillors was conducted at the Council Chambers. Present: His Worship the Mayor (Mr M. E. Perreau' and Crs. Adams, Cowley, McMurray, Parkin, Rand, Thompson, Walker, Winstan|,y and Woods. Mr J. Chrystall (tiie retirin Mayor) was also present.
After the Town Clerk had read the published results of the recent Municipal Elections held on the 2i)th April, 1925, Mr Chrvstall briefly congratulated the Mayor-elect and incoming Councillors, also former Councillors who had been reelected. After Mi- Perreau had read and signed his declaration he assumed office. Declarations were then read and signed b.y all Councillors, and the meeting terminated.
The following committees were provisionally arranged, and no doubt, will be formally set up uL .Monday’s monthly meeting:— Finance. —His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Walker, Woods and Winstanley. Public Works. —His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Mr. Murray, Tltompsori, Woods. Reserves. — His Worship the .Mayor aud Councillors Winstanley, Woods and McMurray.
Gasworks. His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Parkin, Rand) and Cowley. Library.—llis Worship the Mayr and Councillors McMurray, CowIcy and Winstanley. Town Hall. —His Worship the .Mayor and Councillors Adams, Parkin and Walker.
Water and Drainage.—His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Adams, Rand and Walker. Cemetery. — His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Cowley, Adams and Thompson.
