It is with regret, says the Wanganui Chronicle, that we have l<> announce the death of another pioneer settler of Wanganui, in the person of Mrs .1. Signal, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83 years. The deceased lady, who had resided in Wanganui for over half a century, was very well known and highly esteemed. In the days when Wanganui was very small, and when residents were all “neighbours,” Mrs Signal’s goodness of heart and readiness to help all in need of assistance were proverbial. By her death there has broken one of the few remaining links with Wanganui of the pioneer days. The deceased lady is survived by a grown-up family, who ini hide Mrs George Buckley, Mr las. Signal, Mr S. Signal, of Wanganui and Mr \Y. Signal of Foxton.

Shut Out The Night! welcome the warmth you need, And lind contentment in “a fragrant weed.” Shut Out The Night! aud dread of colds abjure— Remember Woods' Great Pepperniint Cure. —Adyt. 53
