DANGER TO PAINTERS.

OLD ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION. Napier, Yesterday. The annual conference' of the New Zealand Painters and Decorator’s Association of Workers is being held here. Mr G. T. Owen (Christchurch) occupied the chair. Following a lengthy discussion on the dangers to which painters are subjected from electric installations. during which it lias pointed out insulating material only lasted five to seven years, it was decided to approach members of Parliament in the various districts, with a view to promoting legislation on the matter.

A proposal to work for a 44-hour week or five days was rejected, the eight-hour principle being confirmed.
