MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

So far no nominations have been received by the Returning Officer (Mr W. Trueman) for the position of Councillors .at the forthcoming municipal elections. The period for receiving nominations ends at noon on Wednesday next, 22nd April. There is evidence, however, that the positions of Councillor will be contested by a good field, and a good deal of enthusiasm is being evinced in the election. Nominations for the Mayoralty close on the same date, and two have been received to date, Messrs Bryant (sitting councillor) and At. E. Perreau having decided to contest the civic chair.
