RACING.
FIRST DAY AT BULLS. The weather for the opening day of the Rangitikei Racing Club’s annual meeting was fine, but a cold wind made conditions rather unpleasant for (he large crowd who attended. Racing was interesting, with big fields and some interesting finishes were witnessed. The totalisalor handled £18,243 as against £lO, 077 for the same day last year, an increase of £2,106. Results were as follows: — Trial Plate. —Kilburn 1, Red Imp 2, Hallownoon 3. Won by a length. Time 1.17 1-5. Scott Memorial Handicap.— Fool’s Paradise 1, Rational 2, Buby Ring 3. Won by one and a-half lengths. Time 1.14 2-5. Oliakea Hack Hurdles. —Awake 1, Dubious 2, Bonomel 3. Won by half a length. Time 3.20 1-5. Rangitikei Cup.—Wlietumii 1, Ma rtulla 2, Fillctte 3. Won by a bend. Time 2.7 3-5.
Carnarvon Hack Handicap.—Areheen 1, Beaumont 2, Anticipate 3. Won by three lengths. Time 1.15 2-5.
Clifton Welter. —Valencia v. Brigadier Bill 2, Sunshot 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.51. Ladies’ Bracelet. —Lady Comet 1, Rikimai 2, Ardfinnau 3. Won by two and a half lengths. Time 2.1 2-5. Ngatiapa Hack Handicap —Papa ponga 1, Empire Camp 2, Piquant 3. Won by a head each way. Time 1.2 1-5.
