Visitors from Levin were entertained on the local green on Thursday, when Mrs Kirk nn<l Miss Whittaker (Levin) played Mesdames Perrean and Pearson (holders) for the Hornhlow badges. A very close game resulted in Levin winning by 211- -24. The Foxion Clnb has decided to enter a learn for the Levin inlor-f-lnb matches. The Foxion team fo vsit TTorov, henna on Tuesday, April 7th is:— Mesdames Perrean, Pearson, MeMarray, Bull, Itryant, Moore and Barr. There was a good attendants at the meeting of the Chib held in Pelican's rooms last night. Mrs M. E. Perrean was voted to the chair. The secretary reported that the dance held on the i.'ith inst. realised £(! 10-0. Arrangements for supply of the soil for top-dressing the green were made and as soon as Mr Newth is ready to proceed with Die work the season will he closed. In order to raise funds to carry out the work, Mrs C. Pearson ollVred to have a social afternoon at her residence and it was decided lo hold Ihe function on Friday, March 27th, (he members of the Club to provide the afternoon tea. Compel il inns will lie held for French golf, and target trophies and one other to he arranged. The donors nre Mesdames Huntley, Parkcs and A. X. Smith.
A shop day will he held on Saturday, April 4th. Mesdames Pearson, Ball and Head agreed to do extra cooking, while the prizes will he provided by Mesdames Pearson, M. Perreau, Moore and Barr for the competitions.
