THE SILVER BAND.
THE Eoxlon Silver Band, thanks to a generous local public, is now in a sound financial position, well equipped and provided with uniforms. It may be that, a few instruments will be required fo replace some which are the. worse* for wear, but these can be purchased as funds permit. There lias been in the past certain misunderstandings in connection with the management which have now been adjusted and the institution will, we feel sure, justify the* public support accorded it. The conductor is a most enthusiastic and experienced musician and lias rendered great service in pulling tiie band on such an excellent fooling both as to efficiency and finance. It only now remains for the members to loyally co-operate with the executive and conductor to make our band an institution of which the local public will lie justly proud. A special word of thanks is also due to the trustees of the carnival fund, for the manner in which they have discharged their duty.
