MOUTOA NOTES.

FOOTBALL CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. An enthusiastic attendance of Rugby players and those interested in the game from Moutoa, MarQiri and Motuiti were present in the Moil ton hall on Monday night at tiro annual meeting of the Moutoa Rugby Football Club. Mr S. Barber was voted to the chair and officers were elected for the ensuing year as follows: — Patron: Mr William Ross; president: Mr S. Austin; vice-presidents: Messrs G. Spring, S. Barber, W. 11. Smith, W. Bowe, T. Davcy, A. Gregory, A. J. Thompson, W. Jewell, Verity, amt E. Pigolt, Club captain, and coach: Mr S. Barber; delegates, to llorowlieiiua Union: Messrs Gregory and S. Barber.

An entertainment, committee was set up to attend to the social affairs id the Club.

The balance-sheet presented by the indefatigable secretary (Mr Cecil .Morgan) showed a very substantial credit. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr W. H. Smith for the use nf grounds and also to Mr J. S. Moir for acting as auditor. Mr G. Morgan received a vole of thanks for his services as secretary and his untiring efforts to help the Club, Which was curried acclamation.

It is evident, from the number of players coming forward this year, that Moutoa will maintain a strong team in the field. Practice days were decided upon and players are keen to be lit ami able for the commencement of the competitions. A challenge will he forwarded to .1 oxton for a game in the pear future.

The forthcoming assembly dance, at Moutoa oil Friday night, promises (o he a great success. An untiring committee is at work behind the scenes and is leaving no stone unturned in preparing the-way for an enjoyable evening. Dance patrons maintain the Jloor to be second to none in the district. Mr A. Walls’ lorry will leave the Foxton Post Office at 7.30 p.m. for tlie convenience of Foxton patrons.
