THE LONDON MARKETS.
Alessrs Levin and Co. Ltd. have received the following cables from their London agents in connection with the wool and meat markets. Both cables are dated the 13th Alarch, 1925, and read: — “Frozen meat quotations (prices on a ‘delivered’ basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, tolls etc.) —Down lambs 28/42’s, 12jd per lb., best North Island do., 12d; ordinary North Island do., lL?d; second quality lambs, do., 113 d; best North Island wether sheep, 48/64’s Sd; do., 64/72’s 7Jd; ordinary do., 48/04’s S.}d; North Island ewes, 48/04’s, 7.}d; do., 04/72VUd; N.Z. prime ox beef, 100/220’s 5.]d.” As compared with last week’s quotations, lamb is id per lb cheaper, whilst light ewes are Jd dearer. Afnrket slightly easier. The following prices are current for average farmers’ lots at the wool sales, now proceeding; — “Greasy Alerino, 27d lo 31d per lb.; scoured do., 4/8; greasy super Tlalfbreds, ' 50’s, 20d to 30d; do., line Ilalfbreds, 50/50’s, 24d to 27d, do., Ilalfbreds, 48/50’s, 22d to 25d; do., line Crossbreds, 40/48’s 20d lo 23d; do., medium Crossbreds, 44/4 o’s, 20d to 22d; do., coarse Crossbreds, 40/44’s 19d to 21d; do., iow Crossbreds 30/40’s 19d to 20d; do., Crossbred pieces 17d to 18d; do., Crossbred bellies, Kid to 17d; do., Crossbred locks 9d to lid.” Afnrket weaker, particularly for Crossbreds.
