A fresh assignment will appear on Thursday next.- » As it is likely to he some weeks lie t oiv schools are re-opened, the Wanganui F.duention Board Ims instituted a system for the tuition by eorrospondenee of pupils above Standard 1. Assignments of work covering a period of four weeks have been forwarded to all teachers in charge of schools for distribution by post. Any parent who does not receive a copy within the next few days is asked to communicate with the teacher of the school at which his child attends. It- should be unnecessary to impress upon parents the importance of seeing that their children do (he work set them. The (losing of the schools for such a lengthy period means a serious dislocation of the vears work, and it is hoped that the efforts of the Education Board to cope with the position will be appreciated by parents. I) is of course, clear that any child who fails to do' the work, will lag behind those who do it, and may on Ids return to school find himself placed in a class lower than that in which he would otherwise .be. ’flu- only expense which parents are asked to bear is the cost of posting the work to the school. The attention of parents is drawn to an advertisement in this issue dealing with this matter.
