LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB.
FIRST ANNUAL MEETING. The first annual meeting of the Foxton Athletic Rugby League Football Club was held in the Town Hull supper-room last night. There was a very encouraging attendance presided over by the Mayor (Mr John Chrystall). The financial statement disclosed a good credit balance and (lie clia irman complimented the club on its financial position, Avliicli augured avcll for the coming year. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President: Mr Perreau, vice-president: Messrs A. P. Eas r ton, E. Parkin, J. Ross, Coughtrcy, McMullian, Hunt, E. Healey, J. Tonge, D. W. Robertson, J. Chrystall and D. Christie; committee: Messrs McMullian, D. W. Robertson; selection committee: W. Neville, Shaw and Parkin; club captain: 11. Reid; referee: W. Neville; delegates, to lie elected by the committee from the committee. It was decided that the club colours be amber and black.
Subscriptions were fixed as follows: Playing members 2/6; lion, members 5/-. The committee was authorised to draw up rules and submit same to a later meeting for confirmation. It was decided to hold the first practice match on- the racecourse, on the 21st inst. Votes of thanks and appreciation were passed to the past president (Mr Perreau), committee and Mr P. Jack (secretary and treasurer), The chairman eulogised the Avork done, especially on the part of the secretary. The votes Avere carried by acclamation. Mr Perreau returned thanks and the secretary gave an outline of likely visits to be .paid by League teams this season, mentioning England and Australia. A vote of thanks was also passed to the Press and the usual compliment to the chair terminated a-suc-cessful meeting.
