CROQUET.

The results of the Wednesday Croquet tourney were : —Mesdames Ball and Bryant, SA; Barr, Owen, Moore and Parkes, 5 ; Me Murray, Head, Smith and Pearson, 3; Huntley. Downes, Perreau and Misses Speirs and Wanklyn 2J. The handicap singles resulted: — Mrs Moore (4-1) defeated Mrs Pearson sc. 2f!—9 : Mrs Barr (3) defeat-ist-r.) 2G—9; Mrs Barr (3) defeated Mrs Ball (scr.) 2G—lO; Mrs Perreau (scr.) defeated Mrs Moore (8) 26—23; Mrs Pearson (scr.) defeated Mrs Barr (35) 26—19; Mrs Owen (2) defeated Mrs Ball (scr.) 26—14. A general meeting was held in Mrs Perreau’s rooms on Tuesday evening. Present : Mesdames Perreau (President) Bryant, Owen Pearson, Ball, Smith, Parkes, McMurrny, Barr, Head, Moore, Huntley, Downes (sec.) and Miss Wanklyn. The secretary reported that Ihe shoj:) da v held last Saturday had realised £2l 8s ad. This included cash donations amounting/ to £2 las. Mesdames Owen and Downes were in charge of the shop. The following donated prizc-s for competition: Mesdames Perreau, Owen, Parkes, Smith, Ilealev and Messrs Perreau and Mat tar. It was agreed to hold a dance next week in the Masonic Hall, the funds raised bv these efforts to he used to put the green in order for next reason. A challenge for the Hornblow badges wa.s received from, Levin Club. The challenge was accepted for Thursday next. Mesdames Perreau and Pearson are the holders. It was decided to enter for the rnier-eluh matches at Palmerston North. The following ladies were chosen to represent the club: Mesdames Perreau, Pearson, Owen, Parkes. Bryant and Smith, any member of the club to have the tight to challenge any member of tlu team, games to be best of three. The Chib intend- to hold a competition Jay on Good Friday.

In our last issue we stated that Mrs MeMurray was defeated in the consolation handicap singles at the Palmerston N. championships. It should have read Mrs McKenzie. Mrs MeMurray was runner-up iu the B grade singles championship and was a prize winner, which would naturally prevent her from participating in the consolation.
