. MINISTER CONTRADICTED. PRESIDENT OF RACING CONFERENCE SPEAKS. Christchurch, February 19. In his statement regarding the allocation of tlie new totalisator permits the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. R. F. Bollard) said, referring to his interview with the representatives of racing and trotlnig conferences: “While there were claims from some of the clubs with which we were not totally in agreement, still I can say that in ultimate allocation we were almost unanimous.” This statement is not endorsed in the representatives of the Racing Conference. The president of the Racing Conference has given authority to deny that the published allotment of permits was almost unanimously agreed upon between tbe Minister and the conference.
