NEW TOTALISATOR PERMITS.
Wellington, Yesterday. Cabinet at its meeting to-day, considered the .recommendation of (lie Minister of Internal Affairs (lion. Jv. F. Bollard) for the allocation of 31 new lota lisa tor permits (12 for racing clubs and .1!) for trotting clubs) provided in the (laming Amendment- Act, whose passage through the House of Representatives last session created a stonewall, which will probably he long remembered. All of the new racing permits go to country clubs and their allocation is'as follows:
Racing Clubs. —Waipapakauri, Dargaville, Whangarei, Frankton, Malamata, Rotorua, Te Kuiti, Waimarino, Waiapu (Ruatoroa) and Motucka, each one day; Hamilton two days, a total of 12 days. Trotting Clubs.—Wellington 3 days, Invercargill two days, Northland (Whangarei), Waikato, Cambridge, Thames, Te Aroha, Taranaki. Hawke’s Bay, ITawera, South Wairarapa, Timaru, Wyndham, Oamaru, Ashburton and Nelson, each one day, a total of 19 days.
