Yesterday afternoon a rink skipped by Pollings fried conclusions with Smith’s rink-for the Nye Ferns. Hoi lings started off well, and had scored five (the fourth head) before Smith’s team showed colour. Howc-ver, once their opponent’s got. going-, Hoi lings could not keep the pace, and the final scores showed the challengers In be well down. Holders: Mat l nr, Walker, Nye, Smith (s), 20 v. Admore. AfcColl, Winsfnnley. Bollings (s), 10. In the evening a rink skipped by Ban- contested with the holders of these trophies. A very good game ended in Smith’s rink again defending their right as ladders. Holders: Mat tar, Walker, Nye, Smith (s) 19 v. Walton, Healey, Woods. Barr (s) lti. One rink from. Foxton will take pari in the Takaro Club's rinks contest on Saturday, for the purpose of deciding Ihe first holders of a new challenge trophy instituted by that elvrb. The local rink will he composed of the following:—Head. Jno. Ross, Nye, Roore. F. Woods will act as emergency. Play commences at 2 p.m.
