LABOUR SHORTAGE AT LYTTELTON.

Christchurch, Last Night. The Rotorua, which arrived at Lyttelton on Saturday, has not as yel succeeded in engaging labour to load her meat cargo. The port is very busy and as labour is scarce, that available has taken its choice of the jobs offering and left meat loading alone. If labour is not available to-morrow morning, the Rotrua will proceed to Wellington without lifting the meat, she has come to pick up. Men engaged in trimming, coal in Kawatiri are demanding payment above the two-pence extra per hour allowed for handling Newcastle coal. Both disputes have been referred to the national disputes .committee at Wellington.
