POLITICAL.
The Labour Party in this electorate have lost no lime in selecting a candidate to champion its cause at the forthcoming general election. The party’s choice has fallen upon Mr B. Roberts, of Carterton. Mi' Roberts arrived from England some years ago and prior to taking up farming pursuits was in business in the wood and coal line, in Carterton. He took a keen interest in local body affairs and served on the Carterton Borough Council and school committee and was also actively associated as a lay preacher in the Melodist Church. He ha's taken a keen interest in dairying affairs in his district, and is a successful dairy farmer. He devoted last week to meeting Labour supporters throughout the electorate and favourably impressed them. He is an eloquent advocate of the Labour Party’s platform and will endeavour to win over the small farmers to the Labour view of' the land question.
