The Engineer said a concrete bridge would be erected over the main drain, and the old road will be left open for the convenience of settlers in the locality. The new road will ensure communication in Lime of hood, and afford a firm foundation. The new road •said the Engineer, would require to be well settled before being tarsealed and would be gone on with immediately.

The Council yesterday accepted the tender o.f Mr J. Coley for the supply of metal (for the road.
