FIRE BRIGADE DEMONSTRATION
The local Eire Brigade may be s , o ,i twice daily (from 0 a.m. to 7 .t. 111., in Main St., and from 0 p.m. 1,, 7 p.m. jit llie end of Whittaker Si.) practising for lhe coming demonstration to be held in Christchurch. They arc getI■ 11 in fairly good form and the tinges for flic dilterent runs shows a marked improvement. The demonstrations are held annuaJlly by the X.Z. Eire Brigades Association iu order to bring the Brigades togeth er and thereby introducing new j,!,.as for more effective and up-to-date lire lighting methods by the Brigades throughout New Zealand. The results of the past have more than justified the expense incurred in sending teams. The shop day (to defray expensented by Superintendent Hamer, See ret ary Walls, Firemen McArtnev, Kirkland and Cunningham, who will have to run against New Zealand's best and fastest lireinen.
'flies bop day (to defray expenses) next Saturday is showing every promise of being one of the most sueeessfuil held locally.
