FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITIONS.
Tlie annual competitions for brigades throughout the Dominion will take place at Christchurch next month. The local volunteer brigade intend to he represented and a team is indulging in practice almost daily. 'The expense of sending a team of five men will cost at least £SO and in order to raise this sum a shop day and cabaret are being organised. Donations are also solicited from the public. The brigade desire to acknowledge five guineas from Mr W. Kirkland and £1 from Air E. Healev.
