The local Eire Board has received a donation of three guineas from Messrs A. Ros.Sj Rough and Co., as an appreciation of the brigade's services at their recent mill lire.
Mrs Peryni’uii will conduct the service at the Methodist Church tomorrow evening and the choir will render the anthem “I Wailed Patiently.” Rev. S. Po.rymn.ti will preach at Oroua Downs a I 7. JO p.m.
In reference lo the Palmers!mi N. railway deviation, Mr .1. A. Nash, M.P., informed a. Slandard reporl er that when in Wellington (lie oilier day, he elicited the informal ion that arrangemenls were being made ro commence the work at an early dale.
