DROWNING FATALITY NARROWLY AVERTED.
WOMAN SWIMMER IGNORES WARNINGS. Christchurch, January 19 Though repeatedly warned, a young woman who was a good swimmer, went out 250 yards from the shore at North Beach, New Brighton, yesterday, when the tide was dead low. with a nasty current running. She found herself in difficulties when attempting to return, and had to be dragged out of the surf by two patrol men, one of whom was prostrated for half an hour in consequence of his efforts.
