BOWLING.

SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY BEST. Wellington, Last Night. In the semi-finals of the Dominion Bowling singles championships Best (Dunedin), defeated Tonkin (North-East Valley) 19 to 18. and Kerr (Masterton) defeated Wooller (Re timer a.) 26 12. The final was won by Best, 18 to 13 on tlm twentieth head. Kerr led to the eigh:'i head but on the fourteenth Best established a lead of four which he maintained. The Dominion president (Mr Meadoweroft) in felicitating the winner, said Dunedin players had won the singles six times. Auckland four times and Wellington twice. In consolation singles, Billeliff 'United) and Benefield (St. Johns) tied in the final and will replay later. The pairs championship with 176 entrants, starts on Thursday.
