GAS WORKS.
NOVEMBER WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the mjonth of November was, 389,900 ft., which, with the amount in the holder on November Ist., 16,200 ft., made a total of 406,100 ft. During the month 342,800 ft. was used by consumers, 1500 ft in street lam|>s, 22.000 ft. at the works and there were 14,400 ft, in the holder on December Ist., making a total of 380,700, and leaving 25,400, representing 6.2 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-six tons of coal were carbonised during the month, producing 10,830 ft. to the ton. Ten tons of coke were produced. The receipts for the month totalled £205 16/11, and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £75 11/5, heat and power £B2 16/6, coke sales £l9 11/2., tar sales £2O 5/-. labour fittings £5 9/8, miscellaneous £2 3/2. The expenditure totalled £269 19s 2d and was made up as follows: Coal £9l 13/11, salaries and wages £25 16/-, fittings.£6v 0/9, working expenses 11/6, engine repair, oil, £l9 5/6, repairs 6/-, tools 13/11, cartage and freight £4 17/5, sundries 2/6, Interest and Sinking Fund £59 11/8.
