FOXTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Foxton Chamber of Commerce was held last evening. Present: Messrs D. Christie (president), A. N. Smith, F. Mason, Jno. Ross,' IVinstanley, McMullian, A. E. Admore, Pearson, Rimmer, C. Simmons, J. K. Hornblow, M. E. Perreau, 11. Osborne, J. Chrystall and the secretary (Mr R. MeMurray). An apology for absence was received from Mr J. S. Moir. It was reported by the president that many flaxmillers, owing to floods and wet weather, had been unable to fulfil contracts for beiiip, and it was requested that the Chamber take the matter up. The President reported having written certifying to the fact that Hoods and rain had interfered with the working of the mills and his action was endorsed. Other important matters were dealt with as reported elsewhere in this issue.
