THE JUTLAND AFTERMATH.
MORE CRITICISAI. Perth, January 8. Rear-Admiral Heard, who is a passenger by the Osteriey, on being interviewed concerning ’ Sir Fredex’ick Bacon’s criticism of Lord Beatty at Jutland, says that the line of fighting ships was twenty miles in length, and it would have been impossible for Admiral Beatty to have conveyed more information than he sent by wix’eless to Admiral Jellicoe regarding the movements of the Germans. So long was the fighting line and so disconnected was the British contact with the enemy ships that it was only guesswork to .say definitely what course the Germans were steering.
