LUPINS AND GORSE.

HANDICAP RABBIT ERADICACATION. On receipt of a letter from the Manawatu County Council at yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu Rabbit Board, re the cutting of lupins on County- Roads, in the Board’s area, the matter was discussed by the members of the Board, as to the advisability of bringing the growing of lupins under the control if the Noxious Weeds Act. It was also pointed out that the growth of gorse on the roads and land areas should be dealt, with and that strieler measures should be taken by th.e Council for its eradication. The amount of cover provided by both lupin and gorse was greatly handicapping the control of the rabbit pest. After due consideration it was decided that a recommendation be submitted to next meeting of the Board, advising the Council to consider bringing lupins under the Noxious Weeds Act.
