BOWLING.
TRIANGULAR CONTEST. To-morrow afternoon the third and final round of the Triangular Contest will be played'on Shannon Club's green. So far as the previous two rounds have resulted, Foxton has a, margin o'f twenty-five points to make up on Levin (who are leading with an aggregate of 126 points) l;> retain the Shield. This number will be very hard to attain, with only two rinks in the field. Shannon Club, who will have four rinks playing,'have (figured on the average) thirty-seven points to gain over the other elubs. It would therefore seem that Lev'in Club has a big chance of possessing the Shield for the ensuing twelve months. The rinks selected to represent the local club are as follow: — Winstanly, .Thomson, Huijtley, Roore (s). : Walker, Barr, Christie, Smith (s) MANSON AND BARR CUP. According to the dates set down in the drawing for positions of play for the Munson and Barr Cup, Foxion is due to contest this trophy with the holders on Saturday of this week. One rink from Foxton Club has entered for the tournament at Wanganui, which will commence on Tuesday, 30th December. The Feilding Bowling Club last season had a membership of 108. Out of a total of thirteen Clubs in the Centre, Feilding has the greatest number of members, Palmerston N. Club being next with 72. Woodville is the lowest on the list with a membership of 32. The Manawatu Centre meeting is being held at Palmerston N. to-day. Mr W. Nye will represent the Foxton Club.
