BEACH NOTES.
(Own Correspondent). CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING
A very successful concert was held in the Beach Hall last night, under the auspices of the • Beach Presbyterian Sabbath School. There was a good and appreciative audience and the children’s items reflected credit upon those who trained them. The Rev. E. McDonald presided and paid a well-deserved tribute to Mrs Larsen, school superintendent, who has conducted the school during the past two years. The following programme was submitted; —Prologue, Zillah Hartley, hymn, “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” scholars; . cornet solo,-Mr J. Beattie; song, “Mother Machree,” encore, “Bird of Love Divine,” Mr V. Wilson; Christmas fairy play, “Wishing Well,” Molly and Nancy Short, Joan Macpherson, Elma and Hazel Pedersen and Ellen Inwood j song, “Old Fashioned Town,” Mrs Murdoch, encore “Smiling Through” recitation, “Betty at the Party,” El Murdock; song, “Toy Treachery,” ltuna Wishart; instrumental trio, Mrs Pedersen, Mr and Mrs Tonge (encored), song “Little Tin Dipper on the Hill” Mr A. Alsop; instrumental trio, “Until,” Mrs Evans (piano), Sharp (violin) Beattie (cornet); song “Don’t you Remember the Time,” five' children; song, “Little Gfreiy Homie,” Mr Christoffersen.
The prizes were distributed by the Dev. McDonald and at the conclusion votes of thanks were accorded Mrs Larsen and Mesdames Evans and Murdock and Mr Christoffersen for assisting in coaching the children. The National Anthem concluded the concert and suppe’f was partaken of.
