METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The anniversary concert and prize-givting - ' heljfl in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening was a great success. There was a large and appreciative audience and tho c hildren acquitted themselves splendidly. The children were trained by Mrs Chalk, assisted by Miss Peryman, who played the accompaniments to the songs and drills. Several anniversary hymns were sung, the accompaniments for which were played by Mrs Peryman and Mr Betty conducted. The Rev. S. Peryman presided, and his humorous interludes were keenly appreciated. Most of the items were encored. Mr G. Iluntly. the school superintendent, before awarding the prizes, thanked all who had assisted to make (hc> anniversary services such a success. He made appreciative reference to tile teaching stntf and commended the children for their regular attendance and diligent study throughout the year, lie then presented the prizes to the scholars. Mr Chrystall gave a brief address and referred to the good .work done in (lie Sunday School and Urged the children fo take to heart, the lessons taught. He then moved a vote of thanks to the superintendent, and teaching staff, which was carried bv acclamation.
The following programme was submitted: — Hymn, scholars; recitation, De.'eenin Brown: action song, several little girls; two recitations by Iris Cross; dialogue, Dorothy Rimmer and Leo Bloomfield; recitation Amy Bangs: action song,, several girls; hymn, scholars;>oeifation, Tun Easton; song (action), boys and girls; recitation, Mona Dix; dialogue, Decoma Brown and Frank Cowley; recitation. Clarice Hobbs: action song, several little girls; recitation, Elsie Hendrickson; hymn, scholars; dialogue in two scenes, Violet Bangs Kellie Walker, Rosalind Carmont, Connie Knott, Frank Cowley and Leo Bloomfield; -recitalion, Gwen Knoll: dialogue. Thelma Coley and Dun Chrystall; recitation, Keith Alexander, do., Marjorie Knolt and Alexander: recitations, Marjorie Knott and .lean Francis; Japanese drill, girls: recitation, Myrtle Hughes; hymn, scholars.
