ROYAL PICTURES. Joseph Striker, appearing in “The Steadfast Heart,” played on Broadway, New York for a two years’ run in the greatest of all theatrical successes,- is the good looking young fellow who plays opposite Marguerite Courtot in Clarence Buffington Kelland’s romance of the Virginia Hills, to lie screened at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. He started his brilliant career as a child. “The Steadfast Heart” is a story of a mountain boy branded as a criminal and a village heiress whose lives arc interwined through drama-crowded years. Prices 9d and 1/6, children as usual.
All Nations cast in “Thundergate” which is to be screened at the Royal on Saturday. Scarcely a corner of ihe world was overlooked in the production. First of all, its a story of Chinese and American life, in which an American with the appearance of an Oriental, is forced to masquerade as a Chinese lord, and such an international mix up! In the cast, playing atmospheric parts, are Chinese, Koreans, Japs, Malays and TjTindus. BOOTH TARKTNGTON PICTURE. Booth Tarkington’s clever and original novel, “Gentle Julia,” has been adapted to the screen and will form -he headline attraction-at the Town IT all on Saturday next. “Genic Julia” wi:' come to lif? on the screen in the person of piquant, winsome Bessie Love. This little actress, as -the girl who was the pretties! creature in town, and of su? a gentle disposition that sh . simply couldn’t say "no ’ to lier many admirers, makes a big hit. Miss Love is supported by a special (/asi. including Harold Goodwin, Frank Elliott and Charles K. Erenci. A Suii^h.ne comedy. “A Bathhouse Tangle,' and the latest News complete a good evening’s entertainment. Prices a- usual. “Scars of Jealousy,” landing the hill Monday, has an intensely interesting storv of Alabama mountaineer and plantation life, some unusually red hot thrills til mod while a real forest lire raged, and an allstar mist that is really all-star. A special comedy. “One Stormy Or pha:i” heads the supporting films.
