AUCKLAND MURDER CHARGE.

ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Auckland, December 4. Further evidence was heard in the case against James Simpkin, charged with the murder of his wife. William Ross, father of the dead woman, said he knew that strained relations existed between Simpkin and his wife. On the day before the tragedy, witness told accused that his wife was going to leave him, and on the evening of the tragedy witmss saw his daughter walk up the road and meet accused. They moved off together and witness was turning away, when he heard accused shout. His daughter then screamed. He found both lying on the ground with their throats cut. After fur her evidence the accused- was committed for trial.
