CARNIVAL NOTES.
The Sports Queen Executive wish to thank all members of the committee, together with the public of Foxon, for the untiring and generous support accorded them throughout the Queen contest. Special thanks are due to the Blue and White Orchestra for their services, which were given gratis whenever required. * * * The following is the result of the Sports raffles drawn in public on Saturday night.— Gramaphone: Three guessed the correct number of peas in the bottle, viz., 1,222, and in the draw-off, was finally won by Airs A. Calder. Cushion.: "Won by Air C. Anderson, No. 129; ham, Mrs T. Eruera, No. 50; salad set: Mr J. Say well, No. 108; tea set: Airs A. Smith (Post Office Hotel) No. 104; set of jugs: Airs W. Trueman, No. 26; gent’s boots: Air P. J. Jack, No. 30; picture and half sovereign: Ah’ C. Simmons, No. 48; sweet dish: Airs Aleyev, No. 5; set of table runners: Master J. AlcArtney, No. 4; camisole: Mrs F. Adin, No. 63; baby’s coat, Miss Vera Anderson, No, 52. The gent’s boots, which were won by Mr P. Jack, were kindly handed hack to the committee and were sold at a few minutes before ten for £l.
