ROYAL PICTURES. “Behind the Curtain,” Universal picture with all star east, is to be shown, at the Royal Theatre tomorrow night. It was adapted for tiie screen from the story of the same name, written by William J. Flynn, former head of the United States Secret Service Bureau. It is understand that he obtained the plot subject from an actual happening that came to his personal attention. Chester Franklin directed the picture the east of which contains such well known screen performers as Lucille Ricksen, Winifred Bryson, Johnny Harron and others. Comedy “Please Teacher." Jack Mulhall, a star in his own right, plays opposite Norma ' Talmadge in “Within the Law,” to he screened at the Royal on Saturday night. The play grossed five million dollars and royalties alone were over seven hundred thousand dollars. The screen version of this play, prepared by Frances Marion, is expected to be one of the outstanding hits of the year. ZANE GREY’S “HERITAGE OF THE DESERT.” ■'* All of Zane Grey’s -books have made highly successful pictures so that patrons of Wednesday’s Town Hall Cabaret will welcome the screening of “The Heritage of the Desert,” to-morrow evening. “Thu Heritage of the Desert” is a story of ranch life, of love and lawlessness, told on the screen from the famous romance. Bebe Daniels, Ernest Torrence (the old guide in “The Covered Wagon”), Nouli Beery and Lloyd Hughes, are the featured players in. the picture which was filmed on the locations selected by Zane Grey, the whole making of the film being under his personal supervision. “Hello Bill,” a comedy and Paramount News complete the programme. Cabaret prices as usual. Saturday feature is a John Gilbert drama of international flavour. It is titled “Just Off Broadway,” the story being set in New York, London and Paris. The great police drama “In the Name of the Law,’-’ scheduled for screening on Monday next. .
