SPORTING.
RACING AT LEVIN. The Levin Racing Club’s annual meeting was held on Saturday. The day was perfect and tlieje was a large attendance of the racing public. Since last racing on its own course, in 1922, the Club has spent over £I,OOO in improvements and the result is a model for a small club. The fields, during the day, were large and the winners skilfully ridden, some good dividends being paid out. The tote handled £16,169 10/-, as against £15,705 for the 1922 meeting. Results. — Manakau Hack Hurdles. —Equitable 1, All Melody 2, Kauaka 3. Won by one and a-quarter lengths. .Time 2.41 3-5. Welter Hack Handicap.—Kenyon 1, Matin Bell 2, Sottano 3. Won by a length. Time 1.27 2-5. Maiden Hack Race. —Lipsol 1, Beaumont 2, Salamis 3. Won by a ■ hea/l. Time I|J5. Levin Hack Handicap.—Tongatutao 1, Westbroke 2, Fillette 3. Won bv a length and a-half. Time 1.15. Levin Clip.—Bitters 1, Euchre 2, Happy Days 3. Lake Hack Handicap. —Merry Ann 1, Sunshot 2, Treadwell 3. Won by half a length. McDonald Memorial Welter.- —Sir Pam 1, Ihapotoa 2, Probate 3. Won by a length. Time 1.28. Hokio Hack Handicap.—Benmure 1, Bonideer 2, Miss O’Dille 3. Time 1 min.
