ATTEMPTED WIFE MURDER.
FIFTEEN YEARS IMPKISONMJENT IMPOSED. Christchurch, November 21 in the Supreme Court to-day Jolm Edward Jeffreys (aged 31) shingle cartage contractor, of Southbrook, who was found guilty yesterday of I lie attempted murder of his wife at .Glentui on July 27, was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment. Mr Justice Adams said he was satisfied ' that prisoner did not act on a sudden or uncontrollable im>ulse. The whole of the circumstances indicated a carefully thoughtout plan.
